Oh, how I love thee, white silk shirt! The height of impracticality for anyone with small children or a messy job (I'm ticking both boxes here), but a girl can dream. This one (above) from Pinterest is just wonderful and I particularly love those big voluminous sleeves.
Back in the real world, good old M&S comes to the rescue with a reasonably priced option (below, left) which is also machine washable – yay! This Reiss one (below, right) is also stunning, with a beautiful little ladderwork detail on the sleeve. The good news is that it’s also currently on sale – double yay!
The White Company do a pleasingly laid back, casual take on it (below, left) if that's more your thing, whilst & Other Stories have one with a slightly longer back (below, right) if you prefer to wear it over the top of things rather than tucked in.
Personally, I’d keep it casual and wear with jeans, avoiding black skirts or trousers so as not to run the risk of looking like an on duty waitress. And accessory wise, those plunging V necks are just crying out for simple, but eyecatching jewellery so I’ve styled it with the gold Meteorite necklace. It is also available in silver and also as a mini Meteorite necklace both colours if you’re after something a little bit more delicate. Perfection!
