Bespoke handmade jewellery & commissions
Creating a bespoke jewellery design that’s custom made to your specifications is a lovely way of owning a truly unique piece of jewellery. Whether it’s an engagement ring, wedding band or a special handmade jewellery gift for yourself or a loved one, I love working with clients to make their dream piece of jewellery a reality.
I design and make each one-of-a-kind piece in my studio in Bishopston, Bristol with additional help from other UK-based craftspeople such as casters, engravers and specialist stone setters where necessary.
How to commission a piece of custom jewellery
On this page you can find out more about how the process works, read some kind words from previous clients and see some examples of my bespoke pieces. You might also like to read my blog post 5 questions to ask when commissioning bespoke jewellery before you get started.
We’ll start the process with a no obligation phone or video consultation where I’ll talk to you in more detail about your ideas, inspiration, timeline and budget. Based on these discussions I will then draw up a series of design sketches for your unique piece of jewellery and we’ll agree on design, metal and stone choices where relevant.
How long does it take to commission a bespoke piece of jewellery?
There is usually a waiting list for commissions so allow at least 6 weeks if you have a hard deadline like a brithday or anniversary that you're commissioning the bespoke piece for.
How much does it cost to commission a piece of custom jewellery?
Prices typically start from £200, depending on the piece. Re-modelling projects start at £300. Once the design has been agreed I will provide you with a full quote and a completion date for the finished piece.
On approval of the quote you will be asked to pay the first instalment of 50% of the fee. I will then order the materials and start working on your jewellery, keeping you up to date on how things are progressing.
Once your piece has been completed I will invoice you for the final 50% payment and then package and send the piece to you or arrange collection if you are local to Bristol.

Sue Haley
Commissioned Elin Horgan Jewellery to make a birthstone ring of my family. From start to finish the service has been wonderful. Friendly, creative and quick; with frequent updates on progress. Questions were answered quickly and options given to make it the personal piece is wanted.
Will definitely be back for another design.

Elin was an absolute joy to work with, a fountain of knowledge in respect of techniques, materials and textures, and a brilliant designer with an extraordinary attention to detail that produced a truly beautiful piece and a veritable treasure.
My wife has since comissioned three further pieces from Elin, which, to my mind, is pretty fair testament to her brilliance! I would have no hesitation in recommending Elin whatsoever.

Elin created an incredible bespoke piece for a gift. She really understood the brief, offered some ideas and produced something that was exactly what I wanted, plus, she turned it around very quickly & in time for Christmas!
The gift was for my partner, she absolutely loves it & has barely taken it off!!
